Michael Mandiberg’s recent work has explored the aesthetics of failed banks, the theory and practice of online collaboration, new media pedagogy, and web browser plugins that highlight environmental impacts. This work bridges the often separate domains of art making, design, programming, teaching, and scholarship. His creative work has been commissioned by Turbulence.org and Rhizome.org, and exhibited at The New Museum for Contemporary Art, Ars Electronica, and Transmediale. He is the co-author (with xtine burrough) of the design primer Digital Foundations: an Intro to Media Design (http://digital-foundations.net/) that teaches Bauhaus visual principles through design software, and a co-author of Collaborative Futures (http://www.collaborative-futures.org/), a collaboratively written book about collaboration. A former Senior Fellow at Eyebeam Center for Art + Technology, he is an Assistant Professor of Media Culture at the College of Staten Island/CUNY. You can find him online at http://Mandiberg.com, at @Mandiberg, or riding his bicycle around Brooklyn. His syllabi live on http://00mm.org.
